Jack is a fILMfAM managing director, photographer and community artist from Sheffield, with a specialism in collaborative approaches within photography. He completed an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at University of the Arts, London in June 2024, graduating with Distinction, and now works freelance offering event, family and corporate photography services alongside his community arts practice.
Jack is expert at making photographs with people, working with both film and digital cameras in participative ways to rebalance power structures within photography and around representation more broadly. He believes photographs help us to think and reflect on the human experience, and to interrogate mainstream, reductive representations. Recent work includes The Plough & The Pick, a project exploring farming communities of the Dearne Valley, and Sent North, a collaborative zine project with young Afghan refugees living in a hotel in Doncaster.
Jack brings significant community development experience into his practice, and can offer charitable organisations and community groups a sensitive, empathetic method of working within vulnerable communities, borne out of his 20 years work on community projects around the world.
